Bishop: Diverse Tracks with a Powerful Voice

Bishop, a London born LA resident with roots in Japan & Hong Kong, saw a 60% increase on the A&R Moneyball charts this past week, earning her a spot as one of this week’s featured artists. Upon researching Bishop, one of the first things we noticed was that she has a very small online presence, with only SoundCloud, YouTube, and Instagram accounts. However, the quality of her music certainly merits recognition.
Music:
Bishop currently has two tracks released to the public, “River” and “Wild Horses,” which are actually quite diverse sonically. The instrumentals to “River” have the familiar feel of AWOLNATION’s “Sail” with forceful heavily synthesized fuzzy melodic swells, which are met with equally power vocals, which at times have a similar quality and tone as Adele’s. On
the flip side, “Wild Horses” has tamer vocals, with the instrumentals bringing in elements familiar in recent hip hop songs, set against soft arpeggiated guitar passes.
Future:
The strength and quality of Bishop’s vocals along with her ability to incorporate familiar elements into her music make her an artist with great potential. As noted, Bishop should look to grow her online presence, gaining a greater following to spread her music to the world. The diversity of her songs suggests a promising future, with the kind of creative and vocal range that has us looking forward to hearing her next release.
