Joel Adams: From X Factor Australia to US Pop Hopeful

January 18, 2016

Joel Adams continues to rise on the A&R Moneyball chart, seeing a 193% increase in popularity from the previous week.  This Australian singer songwriter first gained recognition at the age of 15 when he won over the judges of the Australian version of the X Factor with his performance of Michael Jackson’s “The Girl Is Mine.”  Now 19 years old, Joel has had some time to refine his craft and has worked with various producers and songwriters throughout the world, leading to the release of his debut single “Please Don’t Go.”

Music:

Joel Adams boasts influences ranging from Motown to 80s pop to EDM, making for an eclectic mix that adds an extra flair to his already pop infused music.  His experience with producers shines through on the recording of “Please Don’t Go,” which sounds like it could already be on Top 40 radio with its heavily processed beat and vocals that have similar inflection to Sam Smith with the soul of Hozier.

Future:

Having already generated interest from major labels, Joel Adams is at the beginning of what looks to be a very promising future career.  His “Please Don’t Go” already has nearly 2 million streams on Spotify, which continues to grow significantly.  Aside from this one track, the majority of his other postings are covers.  However, he has 38 original songs in the works, which we are excited to hear when they are released.
