King Deco: Emerging Dance Pop to Rival Top 40
April 1, 2016

New York based Pop singer, King Deco, is this week’s featured artist. Having already released an EP in 2014, her new single “Castaway” has been getting a lot of attention, seeing an increase of 127% on the A&R Moneyball charts over the past week, landing her as the fifth highest top growth artist. King Deco currently has a developing social presence, with growing numbers resulting from her high level of activity on each of her profiles.
“Castaway” begins with a familiar Dance Pop beat, almost having a steel drum island vibe to it. The beat is quickly greeted by a very refined voice, perfect for this style of music, reminiscent of Ariana Grande’s milder work. The real magic comes in how the various parts combine together with the production, creating a sound that, given the proper marketing and support, could easily rival any of the Pop songs currently being played on Top 40 radio.

King Deco’s more commercial appeal of a very attractive woman singing in the style of the current Dance Pop trend is very promising for future success. The fact that she has an EP from two years ago and is still able to garner the attention to appear on the A&R Moneyball charts is quite impressive, showing that she has refined her craft. She seems to be taking the right steps to grow her social media presence and it will be very interesting to hear her next release and see how it falls in line with the success of “Castaway.”
